Volkan Top specialises in domestic and international financing transactions. He advises banks and private debt funds on the lender side, as well as private equity funds, sponsors and project developers/companies on the borrower side, focusing primarily on PE/acquisition, project and corporate finance in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. He has deep experience in drafting and negotiating of financing transactions with extensive market knowledge.
Volkan Top studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim (both Germany) with an emphasis on corporate and capital markets law and private international law. He carried out his legal training in the District of the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe (Germany), which included completing a training period in an international law firm in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), amongst others. In addition, he worked as a research associate for attorneys at the German Federal Court of Justice (Rechtsanwälte beim Bundesgerichtshof) in Karlsruhe. He is a member of the German Bar and has worked for Luther’s Capital Markets, Banking & Finance team since 2019.
