Oliver Köhler

Oliver Köhler focuses his practice on advising clients in complex financial restructurings as well as in StaRUG and debtor-in-possession proceedings (Eigenverwaltung/Schutzschirm). A key part of his work involves advising senior executives and board members in navigating corporate crises. He regularly advises buyers and sellers on M&A transactions involving distressed assets and special situations.

Oliver has particular expertise in restructurings in the real estate, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

Restructuring & Insolvency

Prior to joining Luther, Oliver Köhler worked at the international law firm Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman) in financial restructuring and insolvency law, and at Finkenhof, a law firm that specialised in advising distressed companies.

He gained international experience working with White & Case in New York (USA), at the German Consulate General in Hong Kong and with a medium-sized company in Oslo (Norway).
