Dr Florian Rockenbach

Dr Florian Rockenbach is a specialist lawyer for IT law and advises companies and the public sector on all issues relating to IT and technology law.

One focus of his work is the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts for IT projects. He supports companies in all phases of a project – from contract negotiation to ongoing advice during project implementation and, if necessary, securing and enforcing claims and defending against unjustified claims.

In addition, Dr. Rockenbach advises on legal issues relating to artificial intelligence and data-driven business models. He provides support in the implementation and use of AI systems and in overcoming the associated legal challenges.

Another focus of his practice is data protection law. He advises on the design of business processes and IT systems in compliance with data protection regulations, on the establishment and further development of compliance structures, and represents his clients before data protection supervisory authorities and in connection with data subject rights.

Dr Florian Rockenbach studied law at the University of Augsburg and graduated in 2013 with the First State Examination in Law. He then completed his doctorate at the University of Kassel and worked in a commercial law firm in the field of IP/IT. Dr Rockenbach completed his legal training in Munich and New York, USA. His focus was on IT law issues. Dr Rockenbach has been admitted to the bar since 2017 and has been a specialist lawyer for information technology law since 2021. Dr Rockenbach joined Luther in 2026 and previously worked at a commercial law firm in Munich.
