Focus on expanding sustainability: Brewery group Haus Cramer incorporates rail logistics company into BOXX Intermodal Logistics with the help of Luther

Warstein, 09.11.2023 – The ThielemannGroup has acquired a 49% stake in BOXX Intermodal Logistics GmbH & Co. KG, the logistics subsidiary of the Haus Cramer Group. The Haus Cramer Group includes the globally active traditional brewery Warsteiner. Luther's lawyers advised the Haus Cramer Group on corporate and antitrust law in connection with the acquisition of the rail logistics company.

Background

The Haus Cramer Group has taken a further step in sustainability: the aim is to optimise logistics distribution channels to reduce fuel consumption and ease the burden on the roads. With the ThielemannGroup's investment in BOXX Intermodal Logistics, a subsidiary of the Haus Cramer Group, the foundations have been laid and a clear signal has been sent to increase sustainable distribution channels. Thanks to the ThielemannGroup, which is particularly well established in rail transport, the rail transport radius has been extended to cover large parts of Europe. With this investment, the Haus Cramer Group is consistently pursuing the transfer of transport from road to rail. The expertise of the strategic partner can thus be made available to the entire group.

"We have been working well with the team of Luther lawyers for many years. This means that we can always rely on competent and responsive support for our processes with the appropriate legal and commercial expertise," says Michael Römer, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at the Haus Cramer Group.

Luther has been advising the Haus Cramer Group for many years, most recently on the expansion of its online business and on its investment in a beverage start-up. In the current transaction, however, the law firm not only benefited from its partnership with the client, but also from its many years of expertise in the logistics sector.
